The first, and best, Hammer horror film.
Peter Cushing plays Dr. Victor Frankenstein in "The Curse of Frankenstein." While Frankenstein is one of literature's great sympathetic characters, in this film he is portrayed as someone who will stop at nothing to complete his experiments. He's not exactly evil, he just doesn't realize the magnitude of what he is doing. While this portrayal of Frankenstein is not accurate at all, I rather enjoy it. You delight in Frankenstein's wickedness and you never know when he has something hidden up his sleeve. While Cushing made a great Van Helsing in Hammer's "Dracula" series, to me he will always be Victor Frankenstein.
