Review of The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) by Laimis Z — 08 Jul 2011
One of Hammer Studios' very best, this rendition of Frankenstein is quite a different film than the famous 1931 Universal movie. Here, Dr Frankenstein is a ruthless and zealously ambitious man rather than a tragic victim of his own genius.
With Peter Cushing showing his superb talent in the lead role, this is a highly memorable experience that is sometimes a little chilling even by today's standards.
