Review of The Culling (2015) by Josh E — 14 Mar 2015
ANOTHER TEDDY FLIX MOVIE REVIEW: "The Culling (2015)".
CAUTION ... THIS ONE WILL CREEP UP ON YOU! STARTS OFF LIKE THE CONJURING AND ENDS LIKE WOLF CREEK! THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A B-RATE FILM AND SURPRISINGLY IT WAS FAR BETTER!
PLOT: A terrifying supernatural thriller in which a group of college friends on a road trip find themselves fighting off dark forces at a remote farmhouse after a chance encounter with a strange little girl.
REVIEW: I put this film on to go to sleep to and behold, the story was actually enticing enough to not only wake me up, but hold my attention until the very end. The suspense element within "The Culling" was more than enough to make up for the "Made for SyFy Channel-esque" acting, by a cast member's list made up of unknowns .... at least unknown to me. Very little Special FX can be seen in this horror film and with that said, ... I found it to be very impressive how Director & Writer, Rustam Branaman used good old "Ray Bradbury Theater / Alfred Hitchcock Presents" screen writing technique to basically play on whatever fears the viewer of the film, has within themselves and then the climactic ending just makes you say ... WOW ... I thought I was watching a Teen Horror flick not a Sci-Fi Thriller. Pound for pound this movie rates 4 STARS!
