Review of The Crucible (1996) by Phillip J — 25 Apr 2009
The last 1/3 retains nearly all the power and brilliance of Arthur Miller's masterwork. This script is faultless throughout and there could be no better John Proctor than Daniel Day-Lewis. Nicholas Hytner's interpretation of the play for the screen, however, is pedestrian at best.
