Review of The Crucible (1996) by Kate M — 03 Mar 2011
In seeing The Crucible, I was impressed by the acting on all accounts, especially from Winona Ryder, who's performance left my English class screaming at the screen, just begging for someone to slap her.
However, I found the movie to be rather violent, and the plot not at all to my tastes, as it left the viewer feeling disheartened.
However, the movie was quite true to the play, and the allegory was well portrayed.
Well acted, well directed, good effects, wonderful script, but cringe-worthy subject.
