Review of The Crowd (1928) by Private U — 22 Feb 2008
Quite possibly the greatest silent film and the greatest American melodrama to ever grace the silver screen. Intensely controversial at the time of its 1928 release---the film was, after all, the first to show a toilet onscreen---Vidor's tale of a man out to find himself amidst the rushing crowd of society and his childhood expectations of himself rings true, nearly 80 years after its initial release.
A must see for any film buff.
