Review of The Crowd (1928) by Joel A — 16 May 2012
A stunning emotionally impacting silent film...this film will stay with it themes are just as if not more relevant today. A every day man wanting to break away from the crowd.
It is such a shame that the only available print of this film is pretty ordinary cause the film itself is exceptionally well made.
Both leads in the film are incredibly natural performers, and the direction & cinematography are just sensational. It's fascinating to see NYC in the late 1920's and the sets in this film are staggering.
This is a powerful film that I recommend any one to see, I truly hope this film will never be forgotten...
