Review of The Crime of Padre Amaro (2002) by Maria R — 19 Oct 2007
Outstanding movie. Excellent directing and acting. The movie has a very Orwellian feel - and I don't mean Orwellian in the typical sense of Big Bad Government, but in the feeling of gloom. The ending reminds me of the end of Animal Farm when the animals led by Clover look through the window of the Manor estate and can no longer distinguish the pigs from the humans as they gamble and drink alcohol.
Your body aches for justice, but you know it is not going to come.
