Gael Bernal stars in films that court controversy. so... Padre Amaro... watching it feels a bit generic. while the topic of the film is not safe, the film making is... I wish it could have been edgier or more stylized.
there was a lot of potential in this film, like the aborted affair of Amelia and Padre Amaro.
