Review of The Crime of Padre Amaro (2002) by Ruth M — 18 Jun 2008
Gael Garcia Bernal is a great actor lost in a plot so disjointed that I found it almost impossible to engage with the story.
Its a shame as it has so much potential with complex characters each faced with their own moral dilemmas, but they are crowded out and watered down by so many minor characters which serve little or no purpose to the story.
A promising premise which ultimately fails to deliver. Dissappointing.
