Review of The Crazies (1973) by Stephen C — 12 Sep 2010
Too much talk and not enough action.
It comes to something when the remake is better than the orginal.
Romero is on shaky ground here and his Zombie films feel a long way away from this.
I was expecting more gore from the master of macabre but their is dialogue more dialogue and a very odd ending.
The film seems to be a crtique on Vietnam but I was tooo bored to care by the end .
The acting is ropey and the overall message is so blah you forget the film almost instantly.
Go for Breck Eisners movie its snaps along at a fair old pace and improves on this 10 fold.
