(1962) The Courtship Of Eddie's Father.
DRAMA/ FAMILY.
Glenn Ford as the widowed father, Tom Corbet, who feels that he is incapable to raise his son, Eddie (a very young Ron Howard) on his own, so he decides to find another soul mate. He meets an already wealthy woman, but Eddie doesn`t really like her, but prefers his dad to be with the girl next door (Shirley Jones) living in the same hotel, since she used to be really good friends with Eddie`s mother before becoming deceased! Throughout the film, little Eddie either whines or becomes a nuisance whenever his dad want to become intimate with this other woman, or make his his love life rather difficult for him, such as running away from camp for instance!
Although, viewers know how this film is going to end, it`s what can this film offer us in the middle with it`s seemingly more than two hours of running time, this film can't really offer very much, except to know that the subject matter was relevent back then, which is 100% family oriented, outdated and annoying, since they`re more films that came after it offer more than a whinning kid which is what this film showed, eg "Alice Doesn`t Live Here Anymore", "The Parent Trap", "Murphy's Romance", "About A Boy", and the Oscar winning film "Kramer Vs Kramer" to name a few!
