Review of The Countess (2009) by Ana G — 06 Dec 2010
Historic film about the life of the fabled Countess of Bathory, allegedly one of the worst serial killers in history and the basis of many vampire tales. I must praise this movie for what it tries to do, opposing some conventions and even bringing up the theory that it all may have been made up.
Other than that, the film is generally without surprises, with plot points and character interactions that we've seen ever so often. Enjoyable, but nothing special.
