Review of The Cook, the Thief, His Wife & Her Lover (1989) by Cassandra L — 08 Nov 2007
Greenaway creates the most disgusting character ever and plays around with his enormous set. The kitchen, the restaurant, the restroom, the street and the book place...all these sets have been carefully designed by using the right colors.
the long tracking shots flow smoothly with Michael Nyman's minimalist score. The costumes by Jean Paul Gaultier are spectacular.
