Review of The Conversation (1974) by Jennifer L — 29 Sep 2008
This is one of those films you often see on critics lists -- and deservedly so. A taut examination of isolation in the age of surveillance. Though the surveillance equipment used in this film appears laughably outdated, the message behind it all still feels pertinent.
This film must have served as a blueprint for the recent German film "The Lives Of Others" as the two are so similar, both in subject and tone.
