Review of The Conversation (1974) by Ashley C — 30 Jan 2009
As effective a paean to loneliness, isolation, paranoia, and obsession as Taxi Driver, perhaps even more so given its quiet, understated elegance as opposed to the later film's brutality. When I first rented this, I watched it both without and with commentary in quick succession, then went out and bought it before I even put the DVD back in the mail to Netflix.
