Review of The Conversation (1974) by Shane D — 24 Mar 2013
Much more of a 70's art piece than I was expecting. It is listed as a suspense, but if I was being completely honest, it was rarely that. Despite a pretty nifty twist at the conclusion and a sudden and blunt finale sequence, not a lot happened.
Perhaps that was intentional, as the solitude and guilt of Hackman's Caul is palpable. But it wasn't enthralling. Beautiful. Restrained. But not enthralling.
