Coppolas take on the "Paranoia of the State" which displaying Hackman in a amercian cold-war take. What haunts the viewer is the hard realism and the underlying fear of violence from the autority above. Who to trust?
From me watching "Empire of the state" as a youngster, now I really know where the influence came from.
