Review of The Conjuring (2013) by Bikerjames — 30 Jul 2013
Amityville meets the Exorcist. Although this movie is being hyped as one of the scariest ever, it wasn't that scary for me. I hate gory films, and thankfully this film is not in that category. You might scream from the suspense, but not from cheap gore.
The acting and writing is good across the board, and in general people don't do stupid things like walk into dark rooms without turning on lights, or back up to a window. They pretty much behave normally with only one exception that I won't give away (it has to do with the mother and the cellar).
I had goosebumps throughout the movie and thought it had just enough of a scare factor to make it fun. A nice creepy time at the movies.
