Review of The Company Men (2010) by Justin S — 29 Jun 2011
Work hard for the same company for 30+ years only to find that all that hard work doesn't mean shit. If the economy is bad enough, they will cut you loose without thinking twice and you may very well end up inhaling carbon monoxide in your garage after months of desperately searching for a new job to support that high standard of living you've grown so accustomed to over the years.
Ideally I would've liked to have seen this movie come to the conclusion that there actually *is* more to life than retaining your big house, fancy car, and country club membership, but it veers off course towards the end.
Good performances though. Affleck is on a roll (The Town), and Chris Cooper can do no wrong. I have no idea who played Affleck's wife, but she's swell..real swell.
