Review of The Company Men (2010) by Andy B — 26 Apr 2011
It wants the audience to live the experience of being laid off along with the characters. Those people who have actually been laid off as a result of downsizing probably faced worse problems than these guys, in the movie.
. The character I cared most about, the one played by Chris Cooper, who is 60 years old and unable to get a new job because of his age, is barely in the movie. While the movie's ambition is noble, the result is less so.
