Review of The Company Men (2010) by Carlos R — 14 Jun 2011
While having a good final meaning in it's sendoff before the credits, this movie does not do enough to really show the passion and convictions of these unemployed "Company Men." This film is full of boring and repetitive dialogue, only mediocre performances from experienced actors, and no legitimate thesis for why what is happening to these men is so wrong.
It does do good a job though, teaching the audience much about the trials and tribulations of most businesses and powerful executives today in this recession. The film making lags on and is not necessarily clear in whether or not any of the ten job interviews shown in the movie are accepted or not.
I believe being neutral on the subject of whether it is for the workers or the businesses limits this film. The actors do try hard though. 4/10.
