Great performances. But you get the sense that one is being assaulted by a plea to pity for a particular group of people rather than are being told a story. I am unmoved by obvious activism in movies at the expense of story.
The lesbian kiss was just completely gratuituous. More demonization of white people in an attempt to create white guilt. Some spots of interest however. If we're supposed to hate Birth Of A Nation for its portrayal of blacks, why are we not supposed to feel the same about this for the opposite?
