Review of The Circus (1928) by Jussi H — 08 Sep 2012
Another magnificent motion picture sans sound from the great Charles Chaplin, an artist guaranteed to bring a smile to even the most downtrodden. His work is timeless. The appeal immortal. For anyone only versed in this man's early shorts, seeing his full length works is truly an eye-opening experience.
The Circus is no exception - this time, the Tramp accidentally hooks on with a traveling big top production, with memorable scenes including (amongst others) a high wire act of true comic genius. Long live silent film.
Long live cinema that inspires happiness and joy. Long live Charlie Chaplin.
