Review of The Cider House Rules (1999) by Freddie F — 29 Aug 2015
I love these Lasse Hallström films from this period. This is a wonderful film about morality -- something that very few American films are made about. And not 'Do good unto others' morality, but real nearly Nietzschean ideas about the construction of alternative moralities based on inner beliefs and the expunging moral rules that are flawed.
Really fantastic screenplay. Sentimental, and good.
