It's a good origin-based film, but The Chronicles of Riddick fails to even attempt to surpass the high standards that its predecessor (Pitch Black) set. But regardless, the film is still decent in regards to the amount of effects and visually spellbinding layouts it presented, but it's also let down by bland and somewhat-fair action and plot.
