Review of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) by Kyle C — 21 Mar 2014
The third Narnia outing (thus far) takes us to the high seas which is a new take on the franchise. A new antagonistic force that ends up in the climax being a monstrous serpent is a better take on villainy within the main characters.
Liked this movie a lot better than Prince Caspian. Though I liked Narnia 2 and loved Narnia 1, I'd say this one tops the list. Loved the bratty cousin Eustace who builds up a connection with Reepicheep (now voiced by Simon Pegg) and his transformation into a monstrous dragon as payback for his brassiness.
But nothing can argue with Liam Neeson voicing Aslan. Sure hope that Narnia The Silver Chair is as faithful to the book as possible, which nowadays, most book-to-film movies tend to do: stay as faithful to the source material as possible.
Loved Carrie Underwood's end title song too. A great time for everyone!!!
