Review of The Cat and the Canary (1939) by Allan C — 15 Oct 2016
Enjoyable horror/comedy story of Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard being summoned to an old dark house in a Louisiana bayous by a rich relative who's passed away for a reading of the will. Lots of spooky intrigue happens and Hope provides lots of one-liner quips, which is great if you're a fan of Hope.
This was the film that solidified Hope as a star and he and Goddard make a great pair. Stilly, but lots of fun.
