Review of The Call of Cthulhu (2006) by Brian K — 13 May 2009

This movie was made on about 50 bucks budget, but is really one of the best introductory movies to Cthulhu out there. It was made to look like a black and white silent film, with all the cheesy costumes and stage props you'd expect.

But it works brilliantly and the story shines through as a fantastic horror film. The ending was a bit overdone in making this a bit too much like King Kong - and less like a Lovecraft ending - but this was perhaps necessary to put some emphasis towards the end.

If you get the DVD, the making of this film is a must see. Just fun all around!
