Review of The Call of Cthulhu (2006) by Vered C — 19 Mar 2010
Ok I am a huge fan of Howard Philip Lovecraft. His books are special for me and they give me cosmic terrors in a way no other writer have done it. Thats why is so difficult-almost impossible-to adapt any of them on the big screen. Anyway The Call Of Cthulhu though is a good effort to achieve that. The movie is filmed silent and black-whiite like it should be at the time of HP Lovecraft.
It builds a good suspence from the beginning till the apocalypse of the great Cthulhu. The actors are descent and the music is great giving to each scene the right emotion.
I dont know how this movie will look at someone who isnt familiar with the work of Lovecraft, though every fan of the books (and terror) should give it a try.
