Review of The Brood (1979) by Bryan K — 06 Oct 2012
There is something very wrong when a film only 92 minutes in length feels laborious. But that is the case here in a film that for being a linear plot of concerned spouse and parent versus crazy doctor, takes forever to go nowhere.
Any real attempts at shock value or horror by spawning murderous little kids as villains is lost by both the sheer artificiality of their deeds (one of their victims is killed by toy hammer) and the easy to spot final massacre they take part in.
Coupled with a a last minute attempt at gross-out, it's way too little, too late for this snoozer.
