Review of The Brood (1979) by Eytan D — 09 Sep 2014
It's nowhere near as terrifying as "The Fly", but "The Brood" marks a satisfying, entertaining early horror effort from Cronenberg. It also is littered with the typical commentary in Cronenberg's movies involving the fear of our bodies.
Oliver Reed is good here and so is Art Hindle. By the end of the movie, your jaw will already be hanging on the floor in shock, especially in the squirm-inducing ending.
