Review of The Broadway Melody (1929) by Lord N — 27 May 2009
Some music is timeless, but not the tunes in this dated show. The plot starts off painfully slow, but builds to a dramatic climax. This early 'talkie' won the acadamy award for best picture of 1929.
There must not have been much competition that year. This tolerable film shows ladies in undergarments and has some mild violence, but is suitable for eight and above.
