Review of The Bribe (1949) by Steve S — 16 Jun 2006
Good film noir thriller, nicely cast. Ava Gardner is as sultry as ever. It's Charles laughton though that steals the film, he is magnificent as always. I don't think he has ever given anything but a great performance.
Good dialogue and a good atmosphere lift the film up from ordinary.
