Review of The Bribe (1949) by Trent R — 08 Feb 2011
Gardner has a fine musical number, but the first-person voice over narration is weakened by its past tense and completely predictable reliability. Laughton and Price are magnificent, however, and the Rozsa score lends some menace to otherwise underwhelming scenes such as perilous deep sea fishing.
