Review of The Boondock Saints (1999) by Dan S — 16 Aug 2013
Inventive and worthy of a rise-above-the-critics cult status, the Boondock Saints is an enjoyable film yet it does have it's obvious flaws; bordering a Tarantino ripoff and spends so much time making vigilantism (especially in the name of Catholicism) look cool that it forgets that, well, not everyone agrees with it.
So in a quick conclusion, it is a low-rate, one-sided flick that balances somewhere between Reservoir Dogs and Snatch., but it certainly doesn't fall short of simple comic gestures, an air of inventiveness and inspired (if not, pointlessly emphasised) violence.
