Review of The Blue Gardenia (1953) by Lucia S — 11 Feb 2008
Great, original film noir with the usual elements we've all come to know and love in the genre. Anne Baxter does an awesome job in this movie. She is totally believable. Even the other two room mates add more character to the film.
Its nice to see the hardened journalist haven a change of heart and stand up for the girl--even though at first Mayo was rather unlikable. And what can I say about the direction? Its Fritz lang, enough said! Great music as well.
Little qualm about the resolution...but who cares, overall it was a great film.
