Review of The Blob (1988) by James B — 29 Oct 2008
This is certainly what one would expect of a 1980's film, and it make me more fully confirm that German cinema of that decade was the best around, but at the same time there is a good reason that this is a campy, cult classic (to be alliterative).
The major point I noticed, though, is that the second Alien v. Predator film pulls a James Cameron by essentially redoing this movie, and you must ask why they thought they could turn a campy film into anything good without buffering the new material (in other words, they made the bad idea of essentially remaking this movie without the revisionist themes).
As for this film, the horror and the humor mix nicely to really subvert one from thinking too much.
