Review of The Bling Ring (2013) by Maruf H — 06 Sep 2013
Sofia Coppola loves to make a movie look like it's going to be an epic drama that holds suspense and tension, but in reality, you find yourself wanting a scene to end just to get to the next one and so on until the movie is over.
Emma Watson is the only reason most of America would ever go near this movie, and yet she struggles during the first half of her performance because it's obvious she's caught up in trying to perfect her accent and can't carry conviction in her lines; however, she eases up a bit in the second half and is given the title of closing the film with some terrible propaganda that we could all care less about.
