Review of The Bling Ring (2013) by Ines P — 07 Jun 2018
Expensive at all cost..
The Bling Ring.
There isn't any room for drama, characters and for that matter plot tracks, for its all crime, all illegal, all the time. The scrutiny hits hard and fast and neither is shot appropriately to connect with the viewers. The writing is basically just news, it might be accurately infomercial, but there is no structure in the script that befalls and sets each piece in the puzzle. Addition to that, it isn't convoluted as the makers think which makes it more disappointing. A feature like this coming from Sofia Coppola is the biggest shock, as there is not a single piece of craft to explore in here and neither is the execution up to its mark. On performance level, the young actors are exhaustingly annoying as they sweat through the whole course of the feature, with all their effort to make a difference. The technical aspects are not appropriately done especially sound department and editing; it could have been supervised a lot better. It is a downright fumbling valley and the primary reason is the material that it walks on which isn't concrete. The Bling Ring is expensive at all cost, to the makers, actors and even the audience.
