Review of The Bling Ring (2013) by Dan A — 25 Mar 2017

While I really like Sofia Coppola and her films, all the characters in this were totally unlikable. I know that's the point, since all the characters are vain, narcissistic teens obsessed with materialism and celebrities, but it's hard to get involved in the story when you're watching these arseholes go about their shallow existences having no remorse for what they're doing. The lead character begins to show cracks here and there but they weren't wide enough to turn him into our "hero", so to speak.

Can't fault how well the film is made or the actor's performances though, and the atmosphere created by the filmmaker is perfect for the story.
