Review of The Black Hole (1979) by Philip M — 20 Oct 2007
There's something slightly wrong with this film that's hard to put a finger on... oh hang on. It's the wooden acting! Which is a shame as the plot and special effects are fab.
On board a hugely oversized mausoleum of a ship a mad scientist is trying to go where none have gone before, only the good guys can stop him (can they?). Cue protracted robot chases... great robot design. and long plot pauses, not so great.
"And Life?".
Pause.
"life forever".
Add a wacky fire and brimstone ending and John Barry score and it is enough to keep one entertained, most of the time!
