Review of The Black Balloon (2008) by Paul K — 14 Nov 2012
This is what cinema can be: a window on to other lives. Beautifully crafted, this movie tells how terribly hard life can be for all members of a family with an autistic child. Toni Collette is great as the Mum, as always.
Despite the implausibly pretty and tolerant girlfriend and the inevitably uplifting conclusion, this is a powerful and valuable film. So glad we watched it.
