Review of The Birth of a Nation (1915) by Peter K — 04 Aug 2010
Plays loosely with history... but it is truly historic. Most wont agree with the message. But the real story to me is how it shows that racism, on either side, can torment and destroy a community. What was done to African Americans can never be undone, but that does not justify what they in turn , along with their Northern companions, did to the South during Reconstruction.
