To this day, The Birth of a Nation is controversial and groundbreaking. The film was released in 1915, and the sheer societal age of this film is very apparent; astonishingly, the KKK is portrayed as heroic in the film.
A bit overlong, but it is easy to respect the film's innovative qualities. Known as the singular, initial groundbreaking film in cinema history.
