Review of The Big Short (2015) by Bash B — 20 Mar 2016
The Big Short, as in short on the real story. But I have to admit, I haven't seen the last 15 minutes. So far, I've been waiting for the mention of the government being aware of the CDO and default credit swap products back to 1998, and probably earlier.
Brooksley Born attempted to regulate the industry as head of the CFTC and was totally marginalized by the big boys: Greenspan, Clinton, Rubin, Summers and Levin. She testified before Congress this would implode with catastrophic reverberations.
The boys wanted the little lady gone, so Clinton complied. The American people really are stupid if they buy into the anti-Wall Street and tacit Bush administration bashing. Who is Hollywood trying to protect here?? Watch the hearing for yourself.
One thing is for sure; all big players who let this happen should be in prison, including the guys the guys I mentioned above. All that being said, it was an entertaining movie.
