A surprisingly enjoyable film about an unlikely subject that's brought to life through a clever script, understated wit, finely executed film editing, and excellent performances by Christian Bale, Steve Carell and Ryan Gosling.
This offering is well deserving of all the accolades it has received, taking a complicated subject and making it easily understood for those unfamiliar with it. One of the best offerings from an otherwise-mediocre year in cinema.
