Review of The Big Clock (1948) by Ilsa L — 24 Nov 2011
Have been wanting to see this movie for ages and was not disappointed. John Farrow's direction is superb as the film commands your attention from the first frame to the last. Once again, Charles Laughton is wonderful and the casting of Elsa Lanchester as Louise Patterson is inspired.
The comic relief provided by Elsa Lanchester and Lloyd Corrigan in their supporting roles provides a great counterpoint to the relentless build up of suspense in the plot. Highly recommended viewing!
