Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by Petra R — 01 Jun 2007
This is a major anti-war film made directly after World War II, and it follows the lives of three men, and how their experiences in war affect their home life. The impact is profound, startling, and a bit heartbreaking.
Real life World War II veteran Harold Russell gives a very real, crushing performance, as an amputee who has trouble adapting back to home life. It is a brilliantly moving motion picture experience.
