Review of The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) by Luke W — 27 Oct 2009
This gem has become one of my favorite films of all time. It stole my heart completely, and now I can call it the greatest romantic/drama film of all time. Pure beauty, all the scenes had amazing dialogues, almost all of them were moving.
The acting is superb and also technical aspects like editing and of course William Wyler: one of the best directors of that time. Almost made me cry in the scene when Harold Russell's character is showing his girlfriend Wilma how would be the things if they married, it was so sad, moving and amazing.
One of my favorite movie moments of all time. I love it. Because the post-war time and for being technically superior than It's a Wonderful Life, all its 7 Oscars were well deserved, however I liked better It's a Wonderful Life.
.. anyway both are some of the most beautiful films ever made.
